The 30 day song challenge seems to continue to grow. I think Yorkshire is probably unrepresented so we had better throw our cloth hats in.
Day 1
A song you like with a colour in the title.
Start of with a belter from Pinky and Perky singing Yellow Submarine. Son who is co-producing this post is horror stricken by this choice.
Day 2
A song you like with a number in the title.
After the last belter our son has grabbed this one. Gone for the mighty Iron Maiden with Two Minutes to Midnight.
Day 3
A song that reminds you of summertime.
Andy Williams – Music to Watch the Girls Go By. One of my mums favourites. Always think of sitting in the garden listening to this on hot summer days as a kid. Son thinks it’s kinda cool.
Day 4
A song that reminds you of someone you rather forget.
Soon as our son heard the question he knew that person I won’t to forget. Bono. Don’t really care which U2 song it is…..
Day 5
A song that needs to be played loud
The first song we completely agree on. Both said the same song at the same time. Had to be Motörhead – The Ace of Spades. Managed to see Lemmy and the gang many years ago, still waiting for the ears to stop ringing.
Day 6
A song that makes you want to dance.
Son’s choice apparently this is called Gangnam Style. It’s is rather cool.
Day 7
A song to drive to.
Black Stone Cherry – Like I Roll. A great driving song and one our son concurs with.
A fascinating selection ( I could do without Iron Maiden and Motorhead 🙂 )

Opps Gangnam style 😀😀 I haven’t heard the other songs in your list. I once made a request at a local music show (at the flea market) – yellow by Coldplay. The singer said he knows yellow submarine, and I had no idea about the song. I would go for yellow by Coldplay for days 1 and 3. 😀 And 21 guns by green day for day #2.

21 guns is a great track. Don’t mind Coldplay. I suspect most people immediately think of the Beetles when they mention Yellow Submarine – not Pinky and Perky.

Love it. My kids were in a “sure, I’ll dance in public” stage when Gangnam Style was popular and that was a riot!!

My son laughs his head of when he dances to it and the dog joins in. Apparently when I try it, it’s described as ‘uncool’. Shame I quite enjoy it. I bet your kids loved the dancing riot.

That’s only the first 8 days. Son is not happy we have not had no Ozzy, Disturbed or Alter Bridge yet.

Son is absolutely right. I’m disturbed there’s no disturbed. My son cried his eyes out when he was six because I wouldn’t take him to see Alice Cooper. I think our boys must share DNA somewhere!!

Luckily our son got to see Alice this year. Have to say lot of kids younger than him at concert. Hollywood Vampires – no swearing. However support band The Darkness – he certainly heard a lot of new words I’m hoping he won’t be using for a few years. Don’t be too disturbed.

What’s wrong with Bono? Heh. Besides the fact that he’s obnoxious…

That’s a start. I’m normally very laid back. But Bono just gets to me like no other person. I’m sure he won’t lose any sleep over that fact.

He’s just a typical musician that thinks he is smarter than everyone else. You Bono. We are stuck with Springsteen…another ass.

I have the 6 second rule, the radio must be turned off within 6 seconds on the commencement of a U2 song.

You’ve GOT Bono…sheesh…

He can happily sing to the many U2 fans – just not me please.

Ugh, I’m more of a music humbug than I thought–I don’t know half of these at all…

Your not a music humbug. It’s our weird and uncool musical tastes. Sat here listing to Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam at Christmas – why?

Hey, I bet it’s better than the Neil Diamond Christmas album. Ugh, I can’t stand his singing style!

I inherited a Neil Diamond cd when mum left us. I will dig it out and send it to you……
