I suppose I am a creature of habit. Everyday the dog gets exactly the same walk twice. One with me in the morning and then a nighttime walk with our son.
It’s kinda reassuring as I can let my mind wander onto today’s areas of concern leaving the legs and the dog to navigate the route.
It’s an introverts paradise. Hardly ever bump into anyone. Open views. No sign of habitation. At night our son is guaranteed complete isolation.
Every country will have places like this. Places you can still escape from the rat race. Seemingly cut off from the hustle and bustle of modern life. I give you Yorkshire.

It is apart from a very loud dog barking at everything…

Who needs all that silence anyway!

When the dog is quiet it really points out the complete silence.

A bit like our area out of the tourist season on weekdays – when we tend to venture out

Those are beautiful pictures. There were times in my childhood that I found my small town beautiful. As I got older I have failed to see that same beauty. Sometimes a change of scenery is all one needs to appreciate the beauty again.

This sounds lovely!
I have a dog but he lives with my parents because he loves my dad. But when I go home I will walk him because he loves his walks. And extra walks are always welcome! I’ll take him after lunch on Sunday while my parents go out for lunch. Then they get home and he’s all “well, you are home. Time for my after church walk with Dad” and he’s be a grump until he gets it! What a drama queen!
But we can never have peaceful walks. Everyone knows him and wants to come and pet him and everyone knows my dad so I get pulled into countless conversations with all the old people along the route wanting to check in with me (I’ve never met them before) and talk about my dad lol

Sounds a wonderful dog. I should have mention the sound of silence is always destroyed by a certain noisy pup barking at everything…

Never been. Used to know a girl from Wexford. Just stunning photos she would show and the stories. Will go one day.

Put it on your to do list for sure, if you can, try to wait for good weather, a blue sky really enhances the scenery!

It is. One problem, the hills for running and cycling. Have a 1in 3 hill to ascend. It hurts my old legs…

I’m such a baby when it comes to hills – if I am meeting up with others and somehow we end up on a hill I always have a whine saved for it

Yes I do tend to chunter as I ascend. I used to find having a strategically placed bottle of wine at the top helped focus the mind. Unfortunately now I’m tea total, a strategically placed herbal tea does not motivate me at all.

Used to enjoy that show, not seen it in a while.
Did see the All Creatures Great and Small movie though a couple of weeks ago.
Simpler times. 🙂

It is beautiful. I had a school friend who had a rabbit called Bellissimo. We always thought it was such an exotic animal.

Lovely views. We had some fantastic walks in the woods and also in the Malvern Hills. Around here we have the park and the beach of course, woods are much further afield. For the open spaces though, it had to be the boat, and though none of us have perfected ‘walking on water’, the scenery was nice and we drifted along which was almost the same thing!

Gorgeous, Sir. I love the open places like this. It gives the imagination a proper place to really run. 🙂 xxxxx

It really does. As long as you control the anxiety demons that feed on isolation. xxxxx

Ugh, true. But I think that’s where imagination becomes all the more important, because then one can depart from the shell of anxious self and escape with the adventure running in the distance.

It is so important it replenishes the soul. It keeps you human. Reading your work takes me to another world, I am so thankful for that.

If you ever make it to Yorkshire I will take you round it then take you for a coffee. I suspect when you taste an English coffee you will immediately head back to the states muttering….

Thank you! You never know … I may just get over to that side of the pond one of these days and I will definitely take you up on your offer! Yes, I know you Brits like tea much better than coffee! I can take or leave tea, but it’s not my go-to drink. Thanks again!

I am having to teach myself to drink tea. Always been a coffee bod. Must be my European dna. That’s going to get me expelled….
LikeLiked by 1 person
Really? I thought all you Brits were born loving tea! Yes, I think if you didn’t like tea, you might well be expelled. Best at least pretend to when you’re out in public! 😉

I have taught myself to be able to almost like tea. It’s funny my parents hated coffee yet I loved it.

I hated coffee when I was young, but once I got married and had children, I realized I needed it to function for 20 hours a day! 😉

It is. Plus if we drive 30 minutes we can get to a small city so not completely shut off.

Nice! So, how often do you go into the city?
LikeLiked by 1 person
These days it’s probably less than once a month.

Wow! So I suppose you stock up enough to last ‘till the next month. There isn’t enough pantry / fridge space to hold all the food my little ones eat. So we go as often as every other day to the grocery store. A lot of fruit for the most part. But we are recognized by the employees in the shops we visit most often. 😏😂👍🏼

No tend to just go to a smallish supermarket located in an out of town location and use local village shops and online.
