Thank you so much to my friends
for the Versatile Blogger Nomination. You are all very kind and it’s greatly appreciated.
The rules of the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:
1. If you are nominated, Congratulations you have been awarded the Versatile blogger award!
2. Thank the person who gave you the award and include a link to their blog.
3. Select 10 -15 blogs/bloggers (other numbers are allowed if you can’t count like myself) that youโve recently discovered or follow regularly.
4. Nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
5. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.
Seven Things About Our Son (As he is so much more interesting and cooler than his Dad)
- He has handled a Peregrine Falcon, Harris Hawk, Snowy Owl, Eagle Owl, Pygmy Owl, Corn Snake, Python, Tarantula, Bearded Dragon and Iguana. Many others his Dad was not brave enough to stop himself running away before he discovered what the beasts name was.
- Can name all the English Kings and Queens since 924
- Claims to be allergic to Brussel Sprouts
- His favourite band is Alter Bridge
- He loves Japanese Manga
- His favourite actor is Johnny Depp (he has seen him in concert playing guitar with the Hollywood Vampires)
- He wants to setup a Jurassic Park type island but fill it with every endangered species and leave them completely isolated from the human world.
My Nominations (Absolutely no obligation, only respond if you fancy having a go – I strongly suspect that this won’t be the first nomination for some..)
Congratulations!๐

Love the facts! I think Declan is also allergic to Brussel Sprouts ๐ He honestly starts gagging whenever he sees me eat anything green (and I used to be a vegetarian so there was A LOT of gagging ๐ )And thank you for the nomination!

Thank you. I must admit I have avoided sprouts since I left school. He is slowly trying to educate me in the ways of manga. Sort of getting my head round Dragon Ball.

Nah, I just like sayin’ it. I’ll blame Public Broadcasting of lots of British tv as I was a kid and melding all those little speech quirks with my Midwestern speech quirks. ๐

Blaming the Brits again…… we still havenโt been forgiven for the 1700โs have we….. My accent is weird itโs a bit Yorkshire a bit Geordie (Newcastle) and a lot of talking bollocks (just me).

Your input is just as cool, I’m sure. I’m checking out Alter Bridge now; hadn’t heard of it.
…and I agree that these are great sites but can’t help but feel a little left out. ๐

My first (long) comment got swallowed by the comment muncher! ๐ฆ
Short version:
Congrats on being recognised for your achievements and thanks for the nomination. ๐
Your son continues to amaze me (and everyone else it seems!) ๐
I tend not to engage in awards anymore but am more than happy to share 7 things you may not know about me: (Feel free to follow any/all up if you feel the need! ๐ )
1. I have 3 kidneys!
2. I failed a medical (2 not so great kidneys – see #1.) which meant i could not complete my application to the RAAF Point Cook Academy after finishing high school.
3. I lived the first 11 years of my life in Stoke, Staffs.
4. I make my own pickled onions.
5. I’m a numismatist and have collected one of every Australian government coin type and date, minted as standard tender since 1910. (Except for the v rare 1930 penny!) .
6. I was the ‘Memory Demonstration man’ for a 90’s Self Help Course guru (MasterMind – Tm).
7. I once represented Australia in the 1986 International Frisbee Championships in Perth.

You survived the Black Country. I lived there for a while. Kinda fun, kinda wet. Did you become frisbee champion.

Ha! I was there when there were still working steel foundries and slag heaps. I remember it raining for four grey days straight once… i’m kind of envying that time at the moment (Another 102 F day today!)
Sadly, no. ( it was not a big thing at the time and i was a spectator who joined in to make up a team as they were a few players short of an ‘Ultimate’ team (kind of non-contact frisbee soccer). ๐
