The challenge for
is to make a sandwich sponge cake
(Below is an example is a classic sandwich cake with
two layers of sponge and a jam and cream filling – yum!)
-
Your cake must have at least two layers (we will be very impressed if you want to try more layers!
-
Your sponge cakes can be any flavour and any colour, plain, vanilla, chocolate, red velvet…
-
You can fill you sandwich cake with any filling you like
-
We would like you to decorate the top of your cake
With my husband being diabetic, I can’t make ny Victoria sandwich. π°

Can you do a different version. Mine is going to be gluten free, sugar free, dairy free.

My husband already has sugar free cupcakes I made him, and 2 no sugar added fruit pies from Walmart. I rarely eat sweet things.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear … whatever will I do? Who knew there were to be rules? Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear … I can never follow rules when I cook … oh dear, oh dear, oh dear … I am as likely as not to come up with a shrimp ‘n cheese croissant if told there are rules for a sponge cake … I must think … think … think … π€ … π€ … π€ …

Bend the rules… see the rules more as a moveable feast of guidelines. The policing team are our gerbils they can be bought off with a toilet roll……

Ahhhh … then perhaps. Toilet rolls we have plenty of!

Are you making a cucumber sponge cake? I’m still impressed that you’re sticking to your diet.

I might as well. But no going for the full boring version. Funny thing is I bet it ends up having the same amount of calories as the full sugar and dairy version.

It probably does. I agree with not using refined sugar, but have always been a proponent for whole fats and dairy unless one has allergies.
