Thank you to King Bens Grandma for the tag on this week’s Scene Cut Challenge. Scene Cuts is Rory’s (A Guy Called Bloke) great idea. It’s all about the love of movies. What are our favourite movie clips.
Guidelines: Scene Cuts!
- Select three film clips from the Movies Genre of the Day
- Thank the selector
- Select 3 readers to take part in Scene Cuts
Doesn’t get much simpler than that does it ……
So here goes with Sci Fi.
Quatermass and the Pit (1967)
The X-Files (1998)
Alien (1979) it’s that clip….
My tags are absolutely no obligation except our son who will get no tea tomorrow if he doesn’t do it.
Our Son – will post his tomorrow (questions will be asked if he goes for anything above a 12 rating)
I never heard of the first one before – great clip! The girl performed her role perfectly for the time 🙂

It’s one of our Halloween movies. Very dated so not too bad but a quality story.

Oh, the first one looks like a great cheesy classic!! Fun.
And of course X-Files! I haven’t seen any of the Alien movies and that scene is one of the reasons…bleck!
Thanks for taking the tag. Looking forward to son’s picks.

The first one is dated but it’s a great story and it is deeply unsettling.

I was thinking those effects were a little dated…😂 Still gross and yes, unsettling is the exact word.

That’s nightmares for me tonight.

These may involve Bladerunner, Back to the Future and gathering round campfires NOT in Aliens 2. There you go and thank you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for the nomination. I always think when it comes to this genre nothing is really dated because of the themes that are explored or we would all be in flying cars by now.

I so want to see my rust bucket fly. That’s the Sci Fi clip of ages. x

WHy isn’t it…I mean … we are past the Back to the Future future bit now… We were lied to.

It’s like the x-files and the colonisation date. Bloody fake news.

Exactly. Unless maybe your rust bucket is hiding its wings under a rust bucket…

Nonsense, your rust bucket will rise and soar and smack everyone with its wings, saving the world in a shower of rust.

Might take a few minutes and a good downhill section to get up to speed.

Hugh got it so right. He made a fine PM in Love Actually

Yes. Hugh Grant for PM I say.

He couldn’t do any worse. And his grasp of world politics is far superior than any of our muppets.

PS. Quatermas and the Pitt? Still got the book. That was scary stuff.

We watch that on Halloween plus a ScoobyDoo plus one Old Hammer Horror film.

Long as it’s not an old hamster horror film. Nothing like a good old scary movie on Halloween.

I left the UK when i was 11 and don’t think i was allowed to watch Quatermass? We never had it here – pity! 🙂
I may have to look for you tube clips?
Other 2 are destined to be classics.

The Quatermass movie is great. Very clever and ahead of its time.

This is such a brilliant challenge, I am very tempted to nominate myself 😉
I remember seeing Quatermass and the Pit on TV many years ago. As sf-horror films go, it’s one of the best.

I nominate you. Of you go.

Oooo, Bo was JUST talking about that Quatermass movie! He insists I leave the computer behind after teaching this weekend so I can watch it with him.

Got the dvd. It gets played quite a bit. Hope you enjoy it. A movie that doesn’t need any special effects.
