We had an unexpected visitor.
A spectacular predator.
For a few minutes we had one of nature’s great air displays. Then it was off.
That was so lucky. Would have been so easy to miss this.
That brings to mind a slightly unsettling thought. How many of us would be missed if suddenly we were gone. Kinda like Marvels Infinity Wars. It’s an even more pertinent thought these strange days. So many of us are undertaking social distancing or full on isolation. Social links have been severed. If something goes wrong, if we are struggling, if we suddenly were gone – WHO would realise. Would the world even blink. Maybe not. That includes my own little family. Phone calls, visits, invites are rare at the best of times. Even rarer now. Would the world blink for us – no it probably wouldn’t. That’s a sobering thought. It’s a sobering thought for many of us.
But I guess that’s life. So we just have to deal with it. Keep our hearts open to others and just keep living. I’m lucky as I stumbled across the blogging universe.
The majestic raptor fly past is a great reminder of why living is so worth it.
Great pictures!! Social media is what saves us!! Reach out and Skype or other with siblings! You might enjoy it! 😉

Amazing photos!
Yeah I realised long ago I’d never be missed. Nobody cares. I don’t mean that in a depressed way though. I wouldn’t expect anybody to care. They all have their own lives to be getting in with.

Yes that’s the point. I’m not special. It’s life. It’s life for 99.99% of us. But it’s such a sobering thought.

And you as well Robyn. You keep me sane and I pinch most of my Autism knowledge from you as well.

Good post Gary. Great pictures. Was it a sparrowhawk?
I’ve often thought about if anyone would miss me. I must admit I’ve noticed when some of my readers or those I follow haven’t posted for a while.
Apart from Bro in NZ, I have little if any contact from the rest of my family. I grew tired of being the one doing the running so called time on it this year. Pity, but it only upsets me, so why bother?
WP is great for contact and socialising, and we can all keep the recommended distance with no hardship or effort.

It’s a tough one. Even foxed son as just not enough detail to be certain. Best guess might be a youngish Red Kite. But that’s a guess.

I thought that, but the tail looked wrong. Beautiful bird though

It’s strange. It just didn’t fit with any birds we get in our patch.

We’ve had a kestrel sit on our gate, and also a sparrowhawk which attacked a female blackbird we knew to have chicks, so we shooed it off and she got away. We don’t have kites here (I think) but believe they have a forked tail.

You too. I have to keep going into the hospital right now but I’m going to drive to avoid the train. Hopefully I can work from home some days in near future. X

Did you get a run.

I haven’t run yet. I’m so exhausted from work I can’t find the energy. I’ve been walking though. Going to run once I get to work from home, if I ever do!
How are you? X

I bet you’re so tired. Save up the one trip out for a short dog walk. So it’s runs round our little garden. x

Everyone will be missed, and no one will be missed. It’s a cruel part of life. I don’t believe in heaven or hell, but I do believe that no life ever ends, just melds back into the cosmos.

Oh, yes, watching those majestic creatures is so impressive. And what great and important reminder. Let’s take care of each other and yes, keep our hearts open. Everybody wants and has the right to be recognized and seen.

I think we will. At the very least it might allow some of the wider public to get a brief insight into what many autism families have to do for years.

That’s a very good point. Yes, indeed. There will be a lot more understanding, hopefully remaining.

I love birds of prey! We have Redtailed Hawks around here. I love to watch them circle and soar.
I think that the ones that love us, miss us. I never expected to make a huge impact on a bunch of lives, I just want to make my little area a happy place. I think that’s the best most of us can do.🤷🏼♀️💌

The world would be an infinitely grimmer, darker place without you. Oh yes, you would be missed. All the more reason to treasure these present moments. the here and now – fraught though it is with uncertainty. I am grateful for WordPress and the online relationships I have the pleasure to have now, especially now.
Birds of prey are so spectacular, majestic, really. These photos are wonderful. Thank you.

He’s beautiful! I always feel fortunate when I get to see them put on their show. I would miss you. One can’t help but wonder such things in times like these. I think those of us who have come to this online family are very fortunate to have the care of one another. ☺️🌷

I felt the same when I saw the bald eagle flying on the highway this weekend. Hope you two are doing well. We’re coping so far, but piss all if I know where writing time’s coming from…ah well. I’ll work it out. Gotta, right? 🙂 Give your kiddo and furry loves big hugs for us. xxxxxx

That must be so frustrating for you. Are you still getting loads of ideas. Maybe one will be that money banking Tolkien moment. Look after yourself. And hugs to you. xxxxxxx

Money making idea would be AWESOME. Yeah, the ideas are there, but sigh. time. But hey, if the kids are getting along and doing some school work, that’s still a good day, yes? That’s what I pray for. Hugs back to you both! xxxxxxxxx

Yes that’s a win. Just hope you find time to do stuff that keeps you sane. Is your hubby still going out to work or is he grounded as well. Here unless you are classed as essential then you are grounded. Allowed out to shop for food and one brief visit outside for exercise. xxxxxxxxx

Yup, he still goes to work, thank goodness, and I’ve got my online school, at least, so we can still earn a little something. Yeah, the outside thing scares me. I don’t even know if I can go to our neighborhood park now, and there’s no way in Hades I can keep my kids in all day every day.

We can go out once a day for a walk or run or cycle. But we have to main social distance with others. Police have been instructed to break up groups of 2 or more. We can go to buy food or pick up medicine. So if you are not essential then your largely house or garden bound. At least that stops me spending money as we have little coming in. Stay safe and hope you all stay sane by still getting out.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, stay safe and sane. We can’t even go to the playground across the street now, and the governor now doesn’t want more than 5 people to be around one another…which is a crock for, oh, large families, or day cares…honestly…

All our places have closed. Even the national parks and bird reserves. So apart from one dog walk, that’s it. Which works ok for me, just one kid. But for you it must be seriously hair pulling out time. Look after yourself. xx

That’s what I miss most about not going to the beach this year.. the birds. Especially the magnificent frigate birds and the pelicans. Today the cats slaughtered a finch and presented it to me at my doorstep. Not at all the same thing…Sad world these days.
