I’ve done my Sunday morning exercise session. The poor bike is a bit like me, during every session something either stops working, starts creaking or drops off. So the bike is going into therapy for a day or so. Can’t think of a worse punishment than having my large behind perched on you for that length of time.

So now I’m sat outside. Now that’s a rarity. Sat with my iPad typing these ramblings. This is my view.

Apologies for the legs and yes my trainers are in real need of replacement. Actually forget the trainers, my body is in need of replacement. I’ve used this one up, can I have another one.

During the lockdown I just haven’t found the time to sit outside and relax. Where does the time go. Its not as if I am undertaking any huge Home Makeover projects or painting a landscape masterpiece. I guess it’s a reminder of the investment you need to make when you signup to a parenting gig. The greater the investment, the higher the chance that your parenting will actually prove worthwhile for your kids.

But this sunny morning I’ve found the time to sit for a few minutes. The main reason is that I’ve just seen the weather forecast. It’s back to proper Yorkshire weather this week. The next scheduled settled sunny spell is not forecast until sometime in 2024. So I had better make the most of that bright yellow thing in the sky while it’s still here.

Looking at the view and the sun slightly hidden by early morning thin mist, reminds me of the ending to last nights movie. The last Star Wars movie. I won’t give away the ending or the key story moments. Mainly because I am waiting for our Son to explain them to me. I found switching off the brain and ignoring the inevitable questions, actually turned the movie into a really fun adventure yarn. Visually and sound wise it was stunning. However the repeated interjections from my resident film critic suggested a few too many issues with the storyline. The general message seemed to be – I’ve not seen so many plot holes since we watched the Alvin and The Chipmunks Road Chip Movie.

And with that the clouds have moved in. So like the current Star Wars story arc, our summer is FINISHED…

  1. Wow…that’s quite the long range weather forecast. Lol. It’s a bit like my dad’s future flowers. Nice feet. You knew I had to get that in there, right? It’s not fair though… because one of my future tea posts has a picture of feet and is somewhat Star Wars relatable… but now you’ll think I’m copying you! I’m not! It’s already in my drafts! Lol… I don’t know if I should say great minds think alike or great feet think alike… lol.

  2. Just so you know, I will be scoffing the long range forecast idea and using it as a metaphor in tomorrow’s post. BUT my mention of the word investment is purely coincidental. Lol. I already had that part written. Oddly enough, the weather has also turned back to grey and rainy, just after I mentioned that I needed to set my bistro set up outside so I can eat and read outdoors. Apparently not quite yet… but the sun shall return!

      1. Oh wow! I always bring our outdoor stuff indoors during the rainy season even if it’s designed as outdoor. I want it too look nice longer. 😊

  3. Now, that’s a view worth stopping to look at!! You wont see the sun again for that long?? We will be in the 80s or higher until October probably…or Season Of Sweat has just begun☹ too bad we can’t trade off a little. I wouldn’t mind so mid-high 60s.💌

  4. Nice view.

I’d like to have another body, too.

I’d like to say that I have enjoyed Disney’s pooping all over the franchise but, alas…I cannot. I was 10 when the original showed up and enjoyed the other two as a teen. The next three were interesting if for nothing more than seeing Ewan McGregor channel a perfect Sir Alec Guinness. But, Jar Jar Binks needs to be shot…repeatedly. Once they moved into the Daisy Ridley Show…just…no. I’m done.

      2. Jumpers are what? You say jumpers and I think of rompers? 😄😄😄 which it can not possibly be…

So given its rain… is a jumper a raincoat? Or like a full body suit?? I don’t know that word… jumper = kinda like overalls? So your use of it I am not familiar with.

  6. Every Star Wars, Marvel, Spiderman, etc. movie I watch with my kids I always (at the end) have to ask “Now wait a minute I thought… How come…?” Lol They are smart little buggers!

  7. That is a good view. Not the feet, obviously, but the rest is great.

I’m currently working through the Star Wars films with my own kids. We’ve watched eight out of nine so far and are currently waiting for The Rise of Skywalker to turn up. I really enjoyed it when we saw it at the cinema, hopefully it will be as good as I remembered 😀

      1. There are some beautiful places indeed where the heat isn’t extreme. I grew up in a region that receives the highest rainfall in the world (certainly not a place you’d like a lot considering you need some sunshine :D), but we do get beautiful sunny days. You ought to visit when things get better.
