A brief respite between storms. It’s summer you know.
As the rain from the storm kicks in the tumble dryer decides to go on strike. Perfectly timed as I have a load of bedding and clothes to dry – perfect timing. Suppose I could just go outside and throw them in the air and see what the jet stream will do to them. Central Europe – If you see some line green cycle shorts flying through the air, can I have them back please….
Then a few moments later I went outside to put the plastic garden chairs in a safe place – only to see one of the chairs flying tumbling over the fence and heading into the farmer’s field. Perfect timing. At least I know why we will be one chair down. Again Central Europe can you look out for a slightly dog chewed item of furniture heading at some rate in your general direction.
Don’t you love perfect timing.
The nurse counsellor garden appointment to see Hawklad has been rebooked for this week. To start the process of examining his anxieties which are effecting his life and preventing him from going into the wider world. The last visit was a perfect summers days but the nurse had to cancel at the last minute due to illness.
Well that’s the plan.
Looking at the weather forecast the garden appointment is scheduled to happen during Storm Francis. Expecting torrential rain and 70mph winds. Lovely garden weather – especially as we are perched on a hill with hardly any protection from the elements. The nurse is also not allowed to come into the house due to a current working restrictions. So I’ve got no idea what will happen.
Perfect timing.
I hope that everything goes well when the appointment for your son finally goes ahead and that you will get the answers and support you deserve.
I think that humour is a really good way to deal with adversity and if I see your chair or shorts in my garden I will let you know. 🙏😂

Maybe the counselor will fly away in a plastic chair. Er we say if only Bodge would do the same, he can’t, he’s too damned heavy.

I wondered whether your garden furniture be still in one place. I bet if you stand outside, you would be able to lean into and still stay standing up, because it was knocking me back, or sideways last night.
It will certainly dry what you need drying. But keep hold of it.

I hope the nurse brings an umbrella. And maybe an all-weather survival kit (if such a thing exists).
Best of luck to you both, however you manage to organise it.

It’s sunny here today, but I will definitely stay out of the rain. I have a nice umbrella. 😀

Yes, I suppose if there is a strong enough wind, and you don’t weigh a whole lot, becoming airborne could in fact happen. 😀

Here’s hoping there will be a timely lull in the storm so your son can finally have that appointment. It’s Murphy’s Law that if something can go wrong, it will. Ugh and double ugh!

There was a movie about perfect timing way back….starred Art Garfunkel of all people. For the time it was very racy but it made the point. Hope Francis blows out of steam before he reaches Yorkshire!

Must look that movie up. Can’t imagine Art doing that.

It is actually called “Bad Timing” also starring Harvey Keitel and Denholm Elliot 1980 release. It was very before it’s time. I enjoyed it then! AG was good.

I just had an idea for the nurse visit if its storming… have Hawklad sit in your car, the nurse can pull her car up next to yours and they can chat with the windows down… maybe a couple umbrellas too keep the rain from going in the windows.🤷🏼♀️
I really, really, REALLY want this visit for Hawklad!! And I want it to go well! Poor Superdad is suffering terribly watching Hawklad’s struggles get harder and worse.
Or maybe you & Hawklad should just grab hold of the sheets and let the wind carry YOU away… who knows, you might make it to Switzerland 😉💌💌

A good sense of humour can help us through some of the worst times, and clearly you have a great one. It’s certainly helped me through some very challenging times. We had the same kind of storm down here yesterday. My daughter was trying out windsurfing on a sailing week in Milton Keynes, and she said she spent more time in the lake than on the board!
Hawklad is a lovely name. I hope the nurse counsellor appointment goes well. I reckon my son could do with that too, but I’ve never heard of it before. Hope it helps to widen your son’s horizons. 🙂

We have 3 days of severe weather warnings. Today started out sunny and I was almost wishing I hadn’t changed my plans to go out of town. But by mid afternoon it looked like dusk, the wind got up and leaves were flying around like flocks of birds. I had just opened my bedroom window to get a bit of fresh air when the wind started and I was caught off guard when the drapes flew up and things were knocked off my table. Fortunately I was still standing there and could shut the window quickly because the rain came relentlessly within seconds. I rushed to close my other bedroom window and check the balcony door. The latter was OK but I closed it a bit. Winds were forecast to be up to 100km gusts. It lasted for about an hour. I then looked out the balcony door to find someone’s mat folded up on my balcony just outside the door. No idea who it belongs to, but hopefully it will dry out outside so I can bring it in and put it downstairs in case it belongs to someone in our building. And I was definitely glad that I had cancelled my plans.

That sounds a rough one. You didn’t find a garden chair. Still not found the one that escaped. Do you get much severe weather.
