Sorry this post is a day late. Think MONDAY….
Someone has been very busy. Boris is happily sat admiring all the hard work. Poor Boris the spider. Having a name which is now associated with our so called leader. Boris is a part timer, a serial liar, heartless, out of his depth, out of step with the world, a relic of a bygone era, addicted to his privileged lifestyle, not interested in the future of the species, has been repeatedly sacked, likes to hear his own voice and is basically a reptile at heart. Qualities not found thankfully in our little garden Boris.
So the start of the next phase of the school at home project got off to a predictable start. Looking at a blank screen. Waiting for something from school to allow Hawklad to try and do some work. Two hours of a blank screen. As we don’t even know what subjects are being taught today, there is nothing we can do. So all we can do is – I will send another email into school and Hawklad can play on Minecraft. You never know that game maybe part of the curriculum.
Cobwebs is an apt description for today. The first school day. An early start for Hawklad and even earlier start for me. Back to the delights of early morning workouts. Those early mornings when I just can’t seem to shake those cobwebs from my brain. It’s times like this that I really miss caffeine.
A few times this morning I found myself just repeating the same exercise. Over and over again for several minutes. The brain stuck in a tired loop or maybe it had just switched off and I was in autopilot mode.
Stuck in autopilot mode is probably a good description of the school system. Repeatedly doing the same thing over and over again, no variation, almost forgetting what you are trying to achieve. At least our garden Boris doesn’t do that. He is definitely a most able teacher about life.
Are you sure your Boris is male? Mind you, both sexes spin webs apparently so I wouldn’t know how to check the plumbing. Hubby read out that the 6 rule does not apply to hunts which can still amass up to 30. One rule for them, one rule for the rest of us………….it’s a farce.
Maybe Boris the PM will choke on his own web creation. At least when spiders get their prey, it’s quick!

Indeed our Boris could be either. Not planning on getting too close to check it out though…

If there are sacs in the web and spiderlings you’ll soon know! Borisetta?

I don’t know Minecraft, but I suspect Hawklad will learn more from that than whatever school will offer.

I think he will

You do realize that Boris the spider *is* doing the same thing over and over, right? 😀 I believe it’s the tenacity and artwork I admire most in him/her/it.

Dedication. Then so much patience to just sit and wait. x

Oh, well, at least the spiders are productive and are following their purpose… that school system is a pain in the neck.

I’ve started referring to any spiders I encounter as Sheila. It seems unfair to lumber such industrious beasties with any connection to the clown in Number 10.
Also, Sheila the Spider is nicely alliterative 😉

Sheila it shall be.

That, my friend, is also the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result (I am referring to school here, not you LOL)
It is mind numbing just to consider all the hoops that are NOT there to jump through. Ugh! Hawklad will no doubt learn from Minecraft anyway.
Love the spider web – Boris the spider has been incredibly busy! Lovely pic.

It really is. Insanity does seem to rule at present. x

That’s so wierd. You’re the second person to do a blog titled “Cobwebs.” I took a picture a while back of the light above our table because it had cobwebs. I was going to write about it. Still haven’t come up with anything yet. Still haven’t cleaned those cobwebs either. That tells you a lot about my cobwebs. Can’t shake them either. Maybe I should start by cleaning that light fixture. 😀 We can do this!!!!! 😀

Some cobwebs do no harm at all. They can be so beautiful. Take so much effort to construct. But then there are the cobwebs we let grow inside our life’s. Their the ones I need to focus on cleaning. We can do this. 😀

I know what my second post for tomorrow is going to be. Figured it out with some heavenly guidance. I’m smiling. Now! I just have to figure out which poem to share tomorrow. Yes, we CAN do this.

I’m so pleased your smiling. Yes we can do this. 😊

Here is a quote I came across today that might inspire the educator in you “It may be that you are not yourself luminous, but you are a conductor of light. Some people without possessing genius have a remarkable power of stimulating it.” Sherlock Holmes The Hound of the Baskervilles

Yay! Someone else knows about Boris the Spider!🎶💃🏼 Creepy crawly, creepy crawly, creepy creepy crawly crawly😁
Hawklads school was a mess before COVID, with useless assignments and ridiculous rule. Minecraft engages his brain at least!
With the chronic insomnia, even caffeine doesn’t help! Are you randomly nodding off when you stop moving like I do?
Blast some Hu, that might help clear the cobwebs!💌💌

I do at night. Just for a few seconds. Frustrating as every time it happens you feel worse. I like your plan. What will you blast out. xxx

I think Boris is a sensible fellah. The spider that is, not the bellend.

Wow, what a beautiful web! Your spider Boris has been quite busy. Sadly, we humans are now caught in the webs spun by our political leaders.

Your Boris makes a beautiful web! I hope the evil web of the school, opens up to the fact that folks at home need help! BTW, the UK school in another country, had to close for at least one day, because two staff members tested positive for COVID. And this country has things under much better control.

Sigh. I have no use for a school system that doesn’t accommodate any better than that. Minecraft is certainly the better option in this case. There are a lot of educational opportunities in it. At the very least, problem-solving. Cool picture, by the way. 🙂

I walked out onto the decking at work and there was a wonderful sunlit web, starting from all the way upstairs window to the fence in front of me. The spider was so proud, sat in the middle all plump and contented.

Golden orb spider webs! Some people call them weaver spiders. The spiders are beautiful, as are their webs. they make magic in the garden, set jewels against the new day, and keep mossies at bay.

Yes, I agree, there’s nothing more disconcerting than getting a face full of web and wondering where the designer has gone.

It’s that feeling that the designer is suddenly heading towards you very quickly as well.

Oh, I just remembered something: Years ago now, I answered the door to the postman in a dressing gown and felt a tickle in under my armpit and took a look, only to leave the dressing gown with the HUGE spider behind on the doorstep. Poor bloke left the parcel there too. 😀

I almost expect to see some word written in that web (like Charlotte ❤️) how intricate!! Very beautiful
Not a big spider 🕷 fan myself though lol … but your Boris must not be poisonous? Or anything like the human Boris?
You must have a lot circling in your mind… I do that lost in a loop thing when I have too much thinking about things
Is it possible for the time being since homeschooling anyway?… to go full on homeschooling and screw the school instruction? As if he was just regular homeschooled?
But give it time and see if they give anything 🙏
