It’s Sunday so it must be time to spend a few moments wandering one of this planets most beautiful countries. A little piece of Alpine Heaven. Let’s visit Switzerland.
2015 was our last family holiday here. The world has changed since then. Many things for the worse. Loss, isolation, anxiety, confusion. I won’t be the only person to experience this. But there are special things that keep me going. Things that I hold close to me. Give me hope for the future. One of those things is Switzerland. It’s still there. Still beautiful. Patiently waiting for our return.
There is always hope. There is always places like Switzerland.
What beautiful memories to inspire and uplift! So good to have those to hold on to!!ππ¦
Switzerland has always been one of the European countries I want to see one day. A son moving to London, perhaps somehow that will help make it happen.
Best wishes! ππ¦

I love all the different colors and ways of the water… the falls, the stillness, the ripples over the rocks, even the clouds hugging the mountainsides.
The street with all the flower boxes is just beautiful.
And Hawklad’s smile as he stands next to a new friend is the best!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I always look forward to Swiss Sunday on Saturday Night!!
I wonder if the people who live there realize how very lucky they are? I look forward to the day when you and Hawklad take new pictures of that beautiful country!πππ

Gorgeous shots. I’d love to take one of the boat cruises.
Did you ever do any skiing?

They are fabulous. Can stay on all day but it acts like a bus service as well. We would catch it to the next town. Takes about 90 minutes. Serves wonderful food and drinks. Just watch the world go quietly by. No never went skiing. We donβt get enough snow in Britain, Bern a few times of the dreadful carpet slopes, just not the same.

That is a shame. I thought everyone went to Switzerland to ski but, I’m a dull American. You’d probably enjoy some skiing in my state:

I wish I could ski. Bad knees. βΉππ

The hotel owner in Switzerland told a story. A group of Americans booked in over winter. They turned up with ski kit and surprised to find out that this part of Switzerland doesnβt really get snow. They had to bus them to the mountains 40 minutes away for them to ski.

π You gotta do your homework.
See? And, here I thought all of Switzerland got snow. Higher elevation and all…π€

Thank you, my friend, for giving me a chance to breathe, to enjoy your beautiful pictures, to dream for just a few minutes. Much needed tonight, as I just finished a ‘ranting’ bit of snarky snippets that left me shaking with fury. To see these pictures, to imagine living in one of those cottages, walking the paths in the shadow of those majestic mountains, lowers the blood pressure and calms the heart. I always enjoy these weekly visits to such a beautiful country. ββ

I hope, adding the picture to the comment worked out.

It was very cloudy, of course, but still the first snow looked amazing on that picture. It is still snowing and it looks like a winter wonderland meanwhile.
