Sorry going to milk our temporary farmers field lake for photos while it’s here. It does make such a difference to the view.

Time does make a difference. Look at schools. On Monday morning our PM said schools were completely safe and parents should send them there right away. Monday evening suddenly according to the same PM schools were clearly vectors for transmission and had to close immediately. Then on Tuesday the very same PM said schools were completely safe again but unfortunately staying shut. Having said that he has a track record of this. The man who championed Brexit to become leader likes to forget that before that he said “I would vote to stay in the single market (EU). I’m in favour of the single market”…..

So things can clearly change. One day I was one of two parents, the next I crashed into single parenting and the world of bereavement. Things can change.

But here’s the thing when they do change THEY CAN ALSO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER. That’s why there is always hope. Good things can still happen. So yes I’m struggling through a period or depression. Yes it feels like Groundhog Day. But it can change.

I can do this. We can do this.

I would vote to stay in the single market. I’m in favour of the single market

  1. You could always be in the thick of the mess and chaos that is America, where according to our “wise” leader, “the election was fraudulent, it was a landslide, it was taken from us,” then incites an insurrection. I think lunacy is the number one quality for our brave leaders these days. Such as mess. Oh yes, but you’re right about the hope part! There’s always that! Hang in there. 💕

    1. I liked the quote I saw which pointed out that many of the people claiming election fraud won their races yet they don’t seem to the votes for them, on the very same ballot, were fraudulent. Hrrrmmm.

      1. The US reactions to yesterday’s insanity was stupid. Virtually all intelligent, non politicians, have seen it coming for 4 yrs!!

It pisses me off that it took literal fear for their lives for so many elected officials to openly admit tRump is an out of control fear monger!!

  2. Your photo could have been taken in my neighborhood. Our yard puddles up a bit with rain as well. Once, leaving our house as an island with water under it (we’re up on posts that in my opinion aren’t quite tall enough). The swings your PM makes are not unlike our president’s. My condolences.

  3. Since you cannot travel to a lake, a lake has come to you. Take care. I hope things get better now that the government has excepted the fact that schools should be closed.

      1. [New idea] As I think the “Lake” isn’t that far from your home (oh dear the {{{giggling}}} has started again). So BABASP, [serious face now] 🤨 How about (and sorry readers this is not environmentally or economically sound and might shock the neighbours), close all the windows and shut tight the bathroom door, turning up the heating to max, then turn on just the hot water tap into the bath and sink, sit on the edge of the bath butt naked for a while, then when you feel warmed up from the steam 🥵 run like bug hurry to the “Lake” 🤪 and use it as a plunge pool! 🥶 {{{GIGGLING}}} Best idea so far, am I right? {{{GIGGLING}}}

      2. FYI be super careful of any self fulfilling prophecy, so keep a positive attitude that you can do and will do it and if not let us all know how the dose of the common cold is coming along. 🤭

      3. I think so, but that you have to disguise a common cold under a mask getting all drippy with boogers and the like, otherwise folks might try to chase you with pitch forks.

    1. Nothing that happens in the US shocks me any more.
I’m really sorry and I do hope change is coming for the better. Oh dear, for maybe I’m a bit racist against the US in general. I know full well that no one wants to be a racist (including me and Father Ted) or indeed wants to admit to it, but I refer back to my opening statement about my view on the US. Perhaps I need to emphasise some of the reasons why: For one big thing is that I see violence there a lot! Violence seems to be the modus operandi within the US. To get what is perceived as needed or wanted I think the mind set seems to be by using violence 🤬 due to greed 🤑 abundance of prejudice 🤠 laziness and therefore obeseness and could stem from the system: US gun laws! 🔫 Vast inequalities! ♟ Police discriminating! 👮🚔 Paying for healthcare 🤒 or die! ⚰️ Huge cruel mechanical farms! 🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄 Adverts for food all the time! 🤡 Meals the size a family could eat! 🥧🎂 Snacking! 🌭🍔🍟🍕🍗🍦🍩 Big gas guzzling cars and driving everywhere! 🚘 Competitiveness! 🏆 Did I mention guns? It might sound like Britain is a nanny state with things like: Gun laws, free healthcare, portion sizes, sponsoring the arts 🎨🎭 but that makes it a lot safer and better, right? Perhaps I’m wrong to assume.

      1. Well humans are not quite Ferengi yet, so at least I can still {{{giggle}}} at the [Rules of Acquisition], but yes, the UK gov are keen to take on some stupid, selfish, greedy bar steward practices, because they’ve all been trained to be that way in Toff School! ~ ~ ~ rant ~ ~ ~ grumble ~ ~ ~ {{{giggles}}} because I just can stay down for long, it’s not good for my health.

      2. I know my selfishness, it says to me I need to own a little plot of land and make it wonderful. Then I realise that I can help make that happen without owning it and all is well again with my world. Guerrilla Gardening for the win. 🌷 🌹 🥀 🌺 🌸 🌼

  4. Your photo is absolutely stunning, AGAIN!! I’m so happy to see beautiful skies and a convenient lake for small boat races. I think you and Hawklad should build and race paper boats! Yep! That has educational value too.

Things DO change for the better. Quite often if we pay attention. We can totally do this! We’ve got fantastic support here in Blogland! Me and a bunch of your readers are ready to help in any way we can!

      1. I’ve had moments of clarity over my cooking skills, as when my boy was asked how he was enjoying the holiday? The reply was that he missed the school meals, because of my cooking! 😳

  5. There’s nothing wrong with seeking beauty where you can, Friend. 🙂 Yes, we’re still in this “who knows what’s happening today,” but good things WILL come! We just finished watching Lord of the Rings with the kids (well, with Blondie–Biff and Bash didn’t really care and wandered off with Transformers and Star ships) and Samwise says something similar to Frodo, too, that how can we go on when the world is so sad? But there IS goodness in the world, and there WILL be sun again. And those days, and that goodness, is worth pressing on for. xxxxxx

  6. Groundhogs are my friends, even if they do eat my flowers. Always glad to see them as it means Spring has arrived. I love Winter, but Spring is good too…always something to celebrate…

      1. They are very entertaining. A juvenile bobcat come by once and it had a face off with a ground hog. It was the ground hog that won…bobcat turned and said “just passing by…”

  7. Well you could have politicians who insight riots and make a call to arms because they can’t accept reality.

Shows you where their morals lay… while we struggling with deaths that moron was trying to pull his last stunt for himself – not his people only for himself

And super spreader events?? Omg it kills me every time he does a rally omg!!! Stop!!!

So you don’t have insane politicians like that – or I should say “THAT bad”

So that’s a positive outlook lol

I am sorry sometimes Groundhog Day with the depression … yeah our lives have definitely changed

And it does actually eventually get better … just in different ways because things are different

It’s a learning curve when it’s different. But eventually you will catch footing

It reminds me of a river … a river will carve out its way in the environment … but if it’s flow is blocked it will need to find another way to flow…

We just finding our flow ✌️and sometimes there are rapids lol 😘

Ours tried to wall out immigrants, and took their children and now we can’t find the parents

I’m not sure anyone can top us with worst leader at this moment ✌️

And yes exactly ❤️ the River always flows the way it’s supposed to go. 😊

  8. Competition on worst leader is so bad 😄😄 … but also a little funny because they suck so badly… that we are ABLE to have a competition!!!

I don’t know what is wrong with them.

I am almost done with mine, should get better eventually after that. 🙏

How much longer you got yours? Lol
