I came outside for some fresh air. More home schooling mayhem, messed up housework and lost clothing items. The usual stuff. Feels like a Nanny is required.
Oh Nanny where do we start.
Just hours ago I wrote about Pixar trying to flood the house with tears. Imploring them to at the very least give some warning before they try to break our hearts with death and bereavement.
So Pixar is on the naughty list and off the viewing list here for a while. They just can’t be trusted. Not with providing tear free family entertainment. So let’s stick with Disney. How about a good safe movie like Mary Poppins. How about the 2018 Mary Poppins version. That’s totally safe. The original was perfectly fine.
Oh Nanny what have you done.
Within 10 minutes we find a husband in a mess after his wife has died. Three kids to look after and a home soon to be repossessed.
REALLY……
I’m sticking to watching Peppa Pig and the TellyTubbies…..
Oohh, that is a tough blow. I think Disney’s rule of thumb is to kill one or both of the parents leaving the main character having to rise above and conquer their problem(s). That is a tough one to see today, especially when you thought you were going into something else. I agree – listen to the snorty piggies. You can always count on them for thoughtful introspection that is safe! π

It’s a hard world to navigate sometimes. I find myself always stuck and having to quickly change gears because I’ve been triggered. All we can do is take deep breaths, have a moment to recollect, and try again.
It’s hard because there is no security that this one happen again. I know the feeling, even if its for a different form of grief x

Live Dangerously… watch Anamaniacsπππ
Seriously though… Disney is awful. Tons of violence too. That’s why I decided to just let Ben watch whatever, cuz nothing is *safe* for him.
That’s a fantastic photo! I’m feeling a little photo envy hereπ

the kid i take care of has enjoyed many phases: baby einstien, some kind of hand puppet show, paw patrol, teletubbies, boo bah, daniel tiger, etc over the years. He is one that takes eons to accept new things. at age 7 he will only watch 4 movies which took 4 years to wean him into : secret life of pets, Shrek, Monsters, inc and Nemo.I get really really tired of watching those. So i got him an amazon fire tablet for kid at christmas this past year ( it came with a free year of all kinds of games etc)and he just chooses his own stuff now.. most of it is safe as its set for age 3:)

not sure about the movies… but just wanted to ask – where’re the birds? π€π€ have you seen lots of birds this winter in your area? Did you feed them?

Funny enough just writing birds now. The feathered hooligans are still here. We have a pigeon who stands at the front door waiting to be fed.
