It’s Sunday so it must be time for our weekly virtual trip to glorious Switzerland. A country which means the world to our little family. My partners family have had strong connections with the country since before the Second World War. It started with a young chap being sent to The Alps to recover from a serious chest illness. It continued with members of the Quaker family working with injured serviceman charities . Then my partners mum and dad holidaying here every year while staying with close friends. Then my partner would go there on family holidays. I was then introduced to the wonders of Switzerland and finally Hawklad was.

Life moves on. That connection with Switzerland now rests just with me and Hawklad. A connection that we both are keen to treasure and keep going.

  1. Looking at your photos I just remembered that a school friend of mine and her family lived there for a while. We wrote back and forth for a long while. Too bad the internet wasn’t around then, she would have been able to send amazing photos such as yours. It really looks lovely.

  2. What does Hawklad basically think about visiting Switzerland again? I could imagine that apart from the virus and the Aspergers’ challenge, he would basically love to be there again.

      1. Oh, my gosh, that’s awesome to hear! So, you have very good chances to come here again. The willingness is there. And I am sure, Hawklad will find ways to make the trip comfortable for him.

  3. Books I’ve been reading lately have made me wonder just what it was like inn Switzerland during WW2. I’ve never seen anything written about it, though there must be. I can understand why you want to keep the tradition and connection going and you will. Soon, I hope.

  4. Ooooh! New pictures!! My favorite is the last one, of course 10,000+ feet. That’s high up! Makes me think of a road trip through Wyoming and Colorado… the Rocky Mountains.
They aren’t the Alps though, are they?

So beautiful! I knew something was wrong last night… can’t believe I missed my Saturday Night trip to Switzerland. I very rarely actually do Swiss Sunday on Sunday😂😂

Thank you, as always, Gary! I can’t wait to see a picture of Hawklad with his hood up, from the back😉 in Switzerland again!!💌💌💌

      1. There are so many places I’d love to see, including Yorkshire. I love all the history in the E.U.

It’s a beautiful world, let’s hope we can keep it that way. I hope you will let me know if you ever come anywhere near where I live. I would love to give you a tour. I do love the beauty of Canada.
