Here in the UK we are apparently all in this together. We all need to make sacrifices. The Government fought tooth and nail against attempts to extend free school meal support to help the thousands of children living in poverty in my country. The Government cut £4B from the overseas aid budget, aid aimed at the poorest around the world. They have cut benefits to the poorest in our land. I could go on and on. We are in this together.

In separate and unrelated news the Government has topped up its very own wine collection. Over the last year the Governments wine cellar holding has been increased by £26000.

We are in this together. Some of us are more in than others.

  2. Hold on a minute, I’m not sure I’m reading it right. For I just checked what you typed out and this what I found via the BBC that:
    “The government’s wine cellars were topped up to the tune of £73,000 last year – an increase of £26,000 on the year before, latest figures reveal.”
    Does that mean they spent £73,000 last year or £26,000 on wine?

    1. It doesn’t surprise me, as it is obvious that these people live in a totally different world. A world where they can enjoy the finer things in life, at the expense of others. I mean, the actually celebrated Brexit by drinking 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 French red wine at £350 per bottle. (see the link in my last comment above) That to me speaks volumes.

      3. The world over it is what it is. As there are those that feel entitled and others who know how privileged we all are, just being able to live our lives upon this beautiful, wonderous planet Earth. 🌍 Being a part of this wonder, this small speck thriving full of life and who knows maybe the only one off, in a universe full of unthought, undeveloped potential. Yet here we all are.

    2. I refuse to be saddened, but to just see it as it is and carry on with my life. Tomorrow I will come home from work and pick blackcurrants in the garden to make fresh squash. I intend to celebrate being alive, by being alive and as jolly as possible, without being at the expense of others. I can just about get the buying and selling of wine bottles, 🍾🍾🍾🍾 but surely they must realise that drinking even just one of these, is actually at the expense of others? Cuts here, cuts there, taxes on this and that. It’s the same ol’ same ol’ and we can see it as it was in history, each time we see blocked up windows all around the UK due to “Window Tax”.

  10. They don’t care because they have wine to drown their sorrows in and make their grasp on reality ever less clear. Ugh! For decades there have been stories about the disappearing middle class and how in future things will devolve to life such as was in the Victorian eras (and even previous to that). I fear we will be living in a Charles Dickens kind of world sooner rather than later. As long as people continue to be tricked into voting for governments that promise the world and deliver zilch we don’t stand a chance.

    However, we don’t have to take them at their word, their actions speak so much louder. I am hopeful our present premier gets tossed along with all his cabinet in the next provincial election. I honestly think people need to become better informed and stop believing the charlatans and populist politicians. Is that possible? Do the common people care any more?

  11. Time to open up the wine cellar and let all the homeless and hungry people have a taste. We’re all in this together. That might motivate some of them to run for a parliamentary seat. Simple just get all the homeless to vote foe them and watch them win by a landslide.
