A late afternoon walk around Spiez and to the banks of beautiful Lake Thun. Warm but still with snow on the mountains. A perfect time to visit Switzerland. Looking at the date stamps on the photos, is it really 11 years.

As the sun started to set behind the mountains the lighting became truly magical. A perfect time to breathe.

After the evening walk, time to properly concentrate on getting as much tomato ketchup on Fries as is humanly possible.

  1. So, so beautiful. I would love to just sit on the shores somewhere quiet and just soak it all in.

I love the pics of Hawklad that you include with every post about Switzerland. This one is absolutely precious.

  2. What a beautiful, bucolic setting … it brings peace of mind just looking at the pictures. And young Hawklad is a special addition … love those eyelashes! Someday, my friend, you will return to the place of such wonderful memories. Hugs

      1. “Down the pan” … that’s a new one to me! As an outsider looking in, I breathed a sigh of relieve when Truss stepped down. I thought I liked Sunak better, but now I’m not so sure. You guys have your share of troubles, just as we do. In fact, it seems some days as if the world is afire. Sigh.

  3. The beauty, memories, and Hawklad and his fries~it grabbed my heart ❤️. A student once bought me French Fry socks. I reminded the students each morning about kindness and sharing~except French fries (they would all laugh because my sharing stopped ONLY with French fries). One special student, who lost his battle to cancer at age 12, would bring me McDonald’s French fries. In the messiness and losses of life, and ketchup, memories can still bring love and comfort. I’m always sending you both hugs and prayers. 💛🙏🏻🍟
