Late afternoon walk on the North Yorkshire Moors.

A three hour walk and not one sign of another soul anywhere on these moors. Definitely felt like a proper wilderness only 30 minutes drive from our front door.
On the drive home we got stuck in a traffic jam, a farm tractor decided to break down on a steep, narrow hill road. Just goes to show that we are also less than 30 minutes drive from a traffic queue.
How beautiful, my friend. Your pictures are stunning! This reminds me of my area. 30 minutes away I can be lost in the woods–alone. Boom! I’m back in traffic (and a tractor could be there, too). Sending love and prayers to you both! ๐โฃ๏ธ

I wish I didn’t worry, but I keep thinking if anything happens to you e.g. a twisted ankle. I mean, you’re out there in the wilderness of the Yorkshire moors in winter. ๐
Still, as long as you tell someone your plans and have something like what3words and a full battery on the phone. I have to say, what3words combinations can be bloody hilarious e.g. unfair.nosedive.herring (a really lovely place).

someone in the village has just had an operation to fix a broken arm after tripping over while walking in country. Needed mountain rescue, now canโt drive for 2 months.

Is that supposed to reassure me?
