One of those big Yorkshire highways. Designed for horses and a few farm vehicles, but now used mainly by cars, Amazon delivery vans, large trucks and heavy farming machinery.

A local Farmer used to create the most amazing hay structures, almost like medieval castles. You didn’t want to drive down this little highway when the Farmer was castle building, took him all day, you had to wait…. Definitely felt like an artist at work and you could see the pride he took in his creation. Yet recently he changed plan to this and it left me scratching my head. All I can think of is that the Farmer used to stack the hay up quite high knowing that his structures would last but over the last few years, we are getting way more damaging storms, so he now he does this. A much more practical design for an exposed stormy location.

I heard something today that made me think…..

With regard to a ship who is the most important person. Most people answer the Captain, a few say the Engine Chief. After what just happened off the coast around here, it made me think of the Radar Operator. But apparently the really smart answer is…

The Ship Builder.

When you think about it, how true is that.

  1. Flexibility came to mind, Gary. We all have to be able to change with the tide, as they say. Or, like the farmer, find a way to better adapt. Think we’re in for a lot of that! Yes, I’d much rather be the ship builder…
