England is a relatively small country.
You read these epic driving blogs, taking days, weeks to travel across a land. Less so epic here. On a good afternoon you can get from North East to North West coasts, the biggest challenge being the never ending motorway roadworks.
This week we kinda did that mini adventure. A trip from our Yorkshire home to the North West edge, Liverpool….. Took just over two hours.

Then 2 days later we stood on the North East edge of England. From our home, just over 40 minutes….

122 miles apart. A famous old city port versus a small old fishing village. Vastly different accents, same WIND….
Wow such lovely shots Gary.😍

Hahah yes! I had to smile. It takes six hours (car travel) to visit Keith’s mum who resides north of us but still on the east coast of Australia. Even then we don’t leave our home state! We are a huge country with many attractions. That said, I love the UK, as you know. So much more for us to see… it’s just that darn plane trip… so far ✈️

So lovely to see the Liver Building in bright sunshine! In my eight years on Merseyside, there were very few gorgeous days like that. What beach is that?

Lovely trip… and photos! Ireland is something similar when driving from East to west coasts… depending on which points. My husband and I (when we were much younger) cycled from our (then) small town on the East coast to Galway in the West across the Midlands once. We stopped to camp overnight in a field and the farmer’s wife kindly made us a meal. As you say… same wind but what different regional accents!

I love that you went on a roadtrip, Gary. It is indeed amazing how many iconic cities there are and in such close vicinity to each other.
Did you and Hawklad do any Beatles activities while you were in Liverpool?
