Every passing storm takes a piece out of this cliff. ,

Thinking about it, that can feel like life sometimes.

It feels like that every passing storm takes a little piece out of me.

Feels like there has been a few of those passing storms since our world changed nearly 9 years ago.

Or maybe, just like that cliff, each storm just helps reshape me a little more……

      1. I’ve always lived here, so I’m used to the reality of quakes and potential destruction. My first major quake was 1971. I’m lucky to have, so far (knock on wood), lived in areas that had little damage. There’s a fault under Long Beach (major quake in 1933), and my house is 95 years old, so I really hope my luck continues!!

If you’re ever in one, duck & cover is the correct response. Getting in a doorway, in the theory that door frames are sturdy, is super wrong but a common reaction.

  1. This is both beautiful and bittersweet, Gary. The storms in life do change us forever and often with no turning back. But they also mould us into, hopefully something different and sharper and also with its own beauty to share with the world.

  2. This is a lovely perspective on how we shift over time. The cliffs, the jagged shoreline — all beautiful in their own right. An excellent reminder that while our challenges may take something out of our lives we can move forward in our own space.

  3. When you write posts like these I can never tell if you’re okay. I always think they sound so melancholy. I can’t tell if that’s just me, or if it’s you too. 🫤 I hope you’re okay.
