“Dad did you just say a money tree. Can you really get a money tree?”

Son will often take things very literally. I’ve talked about this before. It is something which is fairly common with autism. I must admit I did this as a kid. You often find yourself trying to re-explain phrases that you often through into conversations (I am sure my parents had to do a similar thing).

My explanation of a money tree was rudely interrupted by Captain Chaos.

Dad the pup is running round the garden with a sock. Correction. He is now burying the sock.”

I really can’t wait for the Sock Tree to grow….

Then we started thinking about other really useful trees we wish we could grow in the garden

  • The Money Tree (obviously) or if that’s a problem then we would settle for a Pay Your Bills Tree,
  • The Hugging tree – readily available hugs would be nice,
  • The one our cat can climb without getting stuck Tree,
  • The Anxiety Absorbing Tree,
  • The Children’s Clothes Tree – not having to constantly go to the sewing basket and fix knee and elbow holes would be lovely,
  • The Pancake Tree – would have been really useful today after my rather soggy attempts,
  • The Remote Control Tree – why do remote controls have stealth technology built into them, bloody thing is always going missing,
  • The Brexit Tree – would have to grow within the next few days….,
  • The Prune itself Tree – really essential after my last eye injury,
  • The Mirror of Erised Tree – if Harry Potter can have his deepest desires mirror then surely we can have a tree that does the same thing. Having said that I would prefer a Take you back 6 years to happier times Tree,
  • The Bird Dropping Missile Defence Shield Tree – how good would it be to have a tree that can eliminate bird droppings before they hit the ground,
  • The Chocolate Tree – now we are talking,
  • The Donut Tree – horticultural heaven.

So as I go outside to see if the Sock Tree has started to grow (probably next to the Pants Tree) can you think of any better ones.

  1. Lol It’s four o’clock in the morning and as usual I am awake! This gave me a giggle. Maybe a Sleep Tree would be good. And a Let’s have nice dreams Tree. The imagination could go on and on with this one!

      1. Oh lol. A New Back Door Tree. Another one for me would be a Puddle Storage Tree. We always get a MASSIVE deep puddle right outside our back door and the dog goes mad in it. Then you know the rest. Cimes back in the kitchen a d wets us thoroughly! Lol

      2. Thanks Gary. I am good, today thankyou. Hope you are too. Just about to go out for a drive. There will certainly be a few trees on our drive. I might have a word with some of them 😀

  2. My best friend and I used to have a running joke about not remembering where we planted our money tree. We knew it was out there somewhere, but we could not remember where. One year for Christmas I found a small ornate money tree that I gave to her for her gift. She said it was the best gift she had ever received, especially since it had been a part of our tradition for so long.

  3. I would like a tree with fruit which is not only calorie free but also reduces weight when eaten. I can’t think a name for it right now, but please place an order for it. It will make us millionaire overnight. 😂

  4. I’m great at making light fluffy pancakes (more like Crepe’s actually!) 🙂

Love the post! You both came up with some very good ones. (Love the stealth technology in the remote). 🙂

How about a Laundry Tree – has a tub in the trunk that can spin dry then the branches pull the clothes out to dry on them on before folding them up and placing them in a waiting washing basket. (Note: Keep Dog away from full basket!)

To be planted next to an Ironing Tree, or it’s subspecies the Steam Press Tree!

To go with the Hugging Tree – a head, neck and shoulders Massage tree. 😉

Finally, a tree that stands guard over your house, property and family and protects them from harm day and night – i’d call it a Sen-tree! 🙂

  5. The Tree That Meets All Needs? You wouldn’t have to have an orchard then, just one tree – that looks like Inspector Gadget 🙂

  6. “The Remote Control Tree – why do remote controls have stealth technology built into them, bloody thing is always going missing” couldn’t stop laughing at this one.

  7. I’d love for all those trees (though not Brexit, as it wouldn’t do me much good over here), plus a Time Tree.
It reminds me of The Magician’s Nephew, where they had the money and lamppost trees sprout up. 🙂
