Thank you to King Bens Grandma for the tag on this week’s Scene Cut Challenge. Scene Cuts is Rory’s (A Guy Called Bloke) great idea. It’s all about the love of movies. What are our favourite movie clips.
GUIDELINES: SCENE CUTS!
- SELECT THREE FILM CLIPS FROM THE MOVIES GENRE OF THE DAY
- THANK THE SELECTOR
- SELECT 3 READERS TO TAKE PART IN SCENE CUTS
DOESN’T GET MUCH SIMPLER THAN THAT DOES IT ……
Yesterday I nominated our son to pick his 3 Sci Fi clips. Here goes.
Independence Day (1996)

https://youtu.be/vjFG-4Ge668 – Clip of times up….
Life of Brian (1979)
Not a Sci Fi movie but as son points out it has a 2 minute epic Sci Fi scene with one of the first swear words he heard from the TV.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
One of sons favourite movies. The initial movie start is bleak especially for those kids who have lost a mum but the intro dance scene is as son puts it “cool beyond coolness”.

I agree.:)

I have never seen Guardians Of The Galaxy. 😮 I will have to see if I can find it on one of our streaming services and see if Ben wants to watch.
We’re back on Thomas & Friends Christmas 😢🤯🤦♀️
I had forgotten that part of Brian. Good call son!👏

Guardians is a brilliantly cool and funny movie. The second one is as good.

Nice picks! And I agree – the intro dance scene is cool beyond coolness!

It is great unbelievably after the mum dying start. Just completely switches.

Good choices all. I think Like of Brian gets a pass just for being the funniest film ever made, although my favourite scene is the part when Brian tells his followers that they’re all individuals.
The Guardians of the Galaxy is a very often watched film in this household as well. It’s great that we can all watch it repeatedly and still find it just as much fun as the first time.

Guardians is great.

It certainly is. Both of the Guardians of the Galaxy films are a lot of fun and I am really looking forward to seeing what happens now that they have Thor among them 😉

Plus the romantic element with a now not interested Gamora. It’s a winner.

I just watched Quatermass and the Pit last night! It was awesome…save for the insect footage. Those bug montages were a little goofy. 🙂 Otherwise, it was a terrific slow-burn of a movie.

I’m pleased. Given the age of the movie it’s exceptional.

It really is! They knew the importance of pacing reveals. I’ll have to see if Bo’s got another Quatermass somewhere…we watched a b&w one a while back…

Over the years they have done a few. John Mills did a really clever TV series in the 70s.

I don’t know him. What was the show?

He won an Oscar for Ryan’s Daughter. Think it was just called Quatermass on our ITV probably about 78 or 79.

Oh! I’m trying to remember if Bo mentioned the Quatermass tv…hmm. I’ll bug him about it.

It’s a great series from what I can remember.
