We were watching an old James Bond movie with a long scene filmed in Switzerland.
“Dad, even James Bond stuff looks better in Switzerland….”
I couldn’t disagree. That set me off again thinking about how amazing a life in that beautiful country would be.
Fast forward to early this morning. Sat outside with a coffee trying to cool down after more exercise torture. Yorkshire was grey, misty but at least almost dry. Did I mention that Yorkshire is great for COOL DOWNS, no need for ice baths here, just hot drinks…. Then a thought hit me, even the coffee tastes better in Switzerland.
Deep sigh…..
That’s nice. I would like to one day visit.

Just like us contemplating within a beautiful setting and reflecting, I love how the building is also sitting there quietly and reflecting.

You are well travelled, I am not so much. Grenoble was the furthest so far, even though a friend has invited me to her place in Morocco.

Exercise? Not today thank you. Did that yesterday in the form of gardening. Dug a trench, filled it with stones to get the water to drain way from the path, as it’s looked more like a river on and off over the last few weeks.
Water, water, every where, 🌧️
And all the boards did shrink; ⛵
Water, water, every where, 💦
Nor any drop to drink. ☕

Although a just started a part time job, I still have job alerts coming into my email feed. The other day I saw one for a remote position that involved two weeks travel to Switzerland! I am tempted to apply even though I am likely two decades older than their preferred age!

I remember we had a hotdog in Switzerland with my mom during our short weekend there after visiting Paris in 2010. And even the hotdog tasted better! 😆 You and Hawklad are onto something.

Ab, I remember something about this in the famous children’s book “Heidi.” The Swiss mountain air was credited with giving an invalid back her appetite for wholesome simple food, restoring her strength and health, and enabling her to walk again.
Interesting side note ~ Andre Guide, a famous author of the early twentieth century, became healed of a mysteriously debilitating illness on the advice of a doctor who told him to strip naked and jump into every natural body of water that he found. It did heal him ~ and it didn’t kill him first!

Interesting. Healing ground.
Here in the United States, the area around Ashland, Oregon is an ancient native healing ground. It was held sacred by everyone ~ it’s said that members of warring tribes would camp right across that river from one another without so much as a hard look. One can still feel the differences between it and its surrounding countryside for far in every direction.

Other than Yorkshire puddings – I reckon that the Swiss could top a lot of taste competitions.
And those views….those views are so exhilarating, they would make anything taste better.
You have a rich treasure in your heart – thank you for sharing it with us G – it is inspiring.
