Yorkshire summer….

Suddenly for some reason I can’t comment on quite a lot of my friend’s blogs. I can like the post but when I try to comment, the input box goes blank and freezes. Randomly a few blogs still work perfectly fine.

Hopefully can figure out really quickly what on earth I’ve done to it this time.

Sometimes I’m Dumb and Dumber rolled into one 😂😂😂😂

  1. I sometimes have the same problem because although I can read on the blog, I am really not fully into it. Try clicking on the title or first part of the blog and it may click into the ‘real” blog and let you comment. This is especially true when I read one that comes up in my notifications. Let me know if this works! Your Out of Touch photo looks like South Dakota, USA where I grew up!

  4. Even if your arms stopped working and you haven’t been given an Eyegaze yet, well we’d still be able to have a good ol’ guess on your comments. I think we’ve got to know Hawlad’s dad over these years.

      1. A friend that’s no longer on this mortal coil, lived with motor neurone disease and chose to use a woman’s voice on his eyegaze. What with all the swearing too, it was often hilarious.

  8. If you’re on an app on your phone you could try updating it in case that helps. The classic one is to switch off and on! To be honest, I’m a bit of a Luddite!

      7. Oh I see! Well I’ve found a way around it. If I save a bloggers post and go via their page on WP reader, I can like and comment on their new posts.

  12. WP does various updates, that make or break… Forcing the ‘block editor’, an ancient refurbished editor’ has caused issues that are on going. Sometimes they fix things, other times not so much. On my old free version I went with the flow, price was right. I also have several large paid versions… and they still break them. 😵‍💫.

      1. Absolutely. I saw this comment while in Jetpack on the IPad, a must have app. However, I had to use a browser interface to answer you. Jetpack doesn’t allow responses to comments from posts other than your own. Confusing, yes.

  14. I know this sounds simplistic, but when my Word Press acts up i shut my tablet/computer down completely, then start it up again. Then it works for a day 9r two, and I have to redo it. The Restsrt button on my tablet doesn’t alwsys do the trick, so I do it manually now. But I do wish they would fix all the problems.
    A year ago, before all the recent updates, I never had these problems.

  16. I recently lost the letter “i” when commenting. It corrected itself. I always blame WP rather than my incompetence, and I am usually right. Random glitches are always WP “improvements”.

  18. Oh, that sucks. Maybe you should try and leave comments in the reader? That has helped with my issues leaving comments on blogs.

  21. I am not a fan. It loads so slow. When someone likes my posts I like to click over to their blog and see what I can like. I am going through my likes right now and several blogs won’t even open. It could be that the posts are “photo heavy” with a lot of LARGE photos, but it is still annoying when I can’t go to someone’s blog who has taken the time to come to mine. I used to like WordPress, but there has been many problems with it for years now.
