We are so blessed to live on the edge of The Moors. Close enough that just 30 minutes after Hawklad’s last lesson of the afternoon we can be here…

The Bridestones…..

The name is likely to come from the Norse Brinkstones, stones on the edge.

Natural sandstone sculptures formed through an Ice Age and shed loads of Yorkshire Weather….

  1. So, have you got a:
‘What to do in case of emergency’
    for Hawklad?
Have you gone through any scenarios with him?
I’m just asking, because you do go to some very lonely spots Beloved and we don’t want an inner panic, but a calm and “I know what to do” teenager.

  2. These stones remind me of creations we see in central Wisconsin because of the Ice Age. A whole new landscape in that part of the state. 🙂

I hope you’re well, my friend, and give Hawklad a hug for us! xxxxxxx

  3. God truly places us where we need to be. Still, being thankful can be tough when the challenges we face are huge. You live in a gorgeous place and it helps a lot but often even what you have is not enough for the crosses you labour under so patiently. I live in a small town where many of the streets are tree-lined and green views are still aplenty. We have a great hill too and when the clouds descend upon it, it is truly magical. But even these are often not enough to get past other difficulties tied to this place. I’ve often winced at my unrelenting ingratitude but today, my thought is that for all the unpleasant bits we have to endure and persevere through, God also tucked pouches of beauty into our surroundings to ease our hours.

I hope the time you got to spend with your beloved boy in that lovely place did you good today, Gary.
