Another week, and still no rain here in Yorkshire. Not noticed The Moors being this dry before. Increasingly feeling a bit like a dust bowl in places.
There is usually a mini pond here, completely bone dry currently……
It’s officially dry. The local weather station hasn’t recorded any measurable rainfall in 26 days. That’s after the driest Spring on record as well. Speaking to the local farmer, they are struggling. In his words the fields are like concrete, it’s going to be another really poor harvest this year, that assumes they don’t go up in flames first.
If a place like Yorkshire is this dry, you know something is going seriously wrong…..
A Dad trying to cope with the loss of his Partner and becoming a single parent. 
OMG, Gary. I never thought the UK could be that dry. Our Spring was dry & some places were under water restrictions for a couple of months. Now? We are getting multiple storms everyday & multiple flooding notices. I wish I could send you some water.

Tucson just finished with seven straight days of rain… and flooding.
Aaaand once again, it’s bone dry… and 105 degrees. It was nice while it lasted! LOL!

I think we should expect there will be storms very soon and flooding.
Where has the wildlife found relief?
Have people been putting out water bowls for the hedgehogs?
Is this the new seasonal expectations now?

Very alarming climate change impacts around the world. We’re dealing with wild fires to the North and I’m reading about what’s happening in France and Spain. Very scary. Hope you get rain over there soon!

I understand. Currently, it’s supposed to be winter here. I’m not really complaining, but, it’s more like springtime. The days are simply gorgeous, warm, and definitely outdoor activity is on the menu!

Yep, my friend, something IS seriously wrong … all over the world. Looking at the fires in Spain, France, Canada … how can people still deny that we’re destroying our environment??? Sigh. I love that 2nd photo — it looks like you can see forever and ever … truly beautiful!

The world is burning this year. I have been watching the news from Europe with the horrible fires in France and Spain. I have seen the blazes in Scotland – a place I could never imagine burning. Your England looks like the western US now. Never on my wildest dreams could I imagine England looking parched.
I wish our country could find it’s way back to sanity, as we all need to come together to hopefully help our planet.

That is deeply concerning, Gary. Especially in a place where this level of dryness feels so unusual. The image of the fields being like concrete really stayed with me. I hope you get some meaningful rain soon, both for the land and for the farmers depending on it.
