It’s a real ‘Dowly/Chucking it Down’ type of Yorkshire day. Son has had a bit of a meltdown this weekend. Combination of tiredness and school. So we are on lockdown. Excluding the outside world for a couple of days. It’s unfortunate as I was hoping to go to see one of my favourite bands for the first time. Its not looking good. But it is what it is.

It’s also a deserved lockdown for a prize Numpty.

Last night I decided to look out for some Black Friday bargains. My list of required items, computer and a large hot drink next to me – off we go. After a few hours I was thoroughly disillusioned. Hardly any deals with many stores doing nothing. Well this is a waste Ot time. Apart from some cheapish school socks and a few pennies knocked off a pack of Top Trumps – nothing. Why are many of the stores having sales next Friday. Bizarre.

Hang on a minute it’s not the 29th yet.

What a muppet. Next week – watch me post that I forgot all about it.

  3. I got myself in a tither on Monday thinking I needed to get the rest of the items for our small Thanksgiving. It’s just my daughters, Ben and me but they insist. I thought it was this past Thursday. I was happy to be wrong.
    There’s no school Friday so I’ll be in my jammies fetching, toting and taping for my lord and master, HRH King Ben😉

      9. Well I think many people have and are giving up that way. Brexit gave voice to the stupid in many ways. For or against it did. For, or against there was a time before we were ever part of any EU union but the fact is all things in life change, expand, change, grow intertwine whatever and then when it comes time to take them apart…well.. that is a river you leave alone. Alas the traitors seem to be the folks who see that and say so. courtesy as always of the gutter press. While I never lived in the 30s I do see so many parallels from hearing later from those who did. I hear it is called signalling language calling people traitors for saying what they believe. And I think there must be another word somewhere for grinding people down and also for thinking yeah…bring it on and let’s all see how bad it will be. There’s bits of me wonder re that one when I see how people can be manipulated. That is the scary bit. (Posting this again cos I think it got chewed last time. Sorry if it comes up twice.)

  7. Here in the states, Black Friday is the day after a Thanksgiving, so next Friday. It’s a whirligig mess out there, so no thanks! Lines too long and people are grouchy and mean. I’ve seen fights over marked down items🤯

  8. I get ya! Same here. Waiting on some deals, but for us – not sure for what. Declan has his interests, but the ticket is to figure out what he is interested in at Christmas. Will it be Spiderman still? Toy Story? Dinosaurs? Presidents? Hard to say. Planets came back today. Can’t wait to see what it will be (and what the deals will be). Good luck!   13. You make me laugh! 🤣🤣 I am so sorry your son is having a difficult weekend, but some time with Dad indoors, since it’s raining anyway, should set him back to rights. Um … I have to ask, though, what is a “pack of Top Trumps”? Surely you guys aren’t buying/selling Donald Trump trading cards???
