There are concerts and then there are CONCERTS….

Just a bit closer to the stage than the last time we saw BRUCE.

It’s strange how life works out sometimes. When I was much younger, I really wanted to see Bruce but the stars wouldn’t quite align. There was also quite a bit of that ‘shedloads of time in my pockets’ thing going on with me. No rush, plenty of time to sort stuff out.
But the years and decades rolled on. Bruce got older. I got older. That growing, nagging feeling, is there really plenty of time.
Then life hit the buffers. Bereavement. Single Parenting. Life felt like it had stopped. Permanently stopped. Bucket list stuff, things like seeing Bruce seemed like a million miles away and ever receding in the rear view mirror.
But slowly life started to spin again. A different life. Now a growing realisation that I won’t figure most things out in life, why things happen when they happen or don’t happen. That really clever, brilliant stuff is way beyond my pay grade. The other growing realisation, we really don’t have plenty of time in this life, but maybe, just maybe most of us will be given ENOUGH time to get enough done. Enough time to learn and grow. Enough time to experience enough in life, the good, the bad. It’s how we use that time, what guides us, our priorities, the choices we make, the doors that are opened for us, the doors that are closed to us, how we deal with the stuff of life.
No Bruce for decades and then wonderfully, unexpectedly, twice in 13 months. It’s a funny old life.
Wow!!!

I take it you believe in some kind of life after death (as do I, even though I am an atheist). I have a place in my heart for anyone who wants to learn and grow as a person. Why bother if death is a dead end?

Interesting. I think Life is a dead end, but also an accumulation of experiences, so I grab as many as I can… cause, otherwise, why bother?!

Each to their own. We all find out, or not, the day we die. And whatever the truth is, we cannot refuse it. That is the nature of real truth.

Yep! Different outlooks on the unknown, but they both spur us on.
I once dated a guy who couldn’t comprehend that I was/am a good person when I don’t fear the wrath of a gawd.

Yes. Certain people cannot believe a person can be good without the fear of Hell hanging over their heads. They have no idea that they are the ones who are incomprehensible, liv8ng in fear for their whole lives..

The Universe has always worked against me – whenever Bruce has been ANYWHERE near me, tickets are GONE within hours and I wasn’t one of the lucky ones.

this time we were lucky, tried for 3 concerts before in Manchester but sold out in minutes, just grabbed these tickets when they popped up.

What an experience. I hate to admit to not being to a concert for many a year.

I have a friend who loves the Rolling Stones but has never been to see them. He went to one concert when he was younger and hated it. Too noisy. So he just enjoys watching and listening to them at home.

Though being squashed in a crowd doesn’t hold the same appeal now as it did in my 20s. I can understand your friends reasoning.

I don’t like crowds, so a concert is off the table for me. I’ve been to music festivals in the past, but no, I just wouldn’t enjoy any of that now.

the crowds are an issue we have to manage with Hawklad. Careful where we sit, when we arrive and leave.

I like Bruce as well as he’s down to earth and normal. I’ve actually met him (many, many years ago) in person and he’s lovely! That’s awesome that you saw him 2x in 13 months! Woo hoo! Good for you!

Amazing, Gary! What a crowd and what a performer. I am glad the world is spinning differently for you. Same sun were orbiting, but a different gravity underneath your feet. Love love this for you. 💕🙏
