A visit to Hawklad’s preferred college to see what it feels like during a normal, busy day. The key word is BUSY. Very, very busy. Overall the college has 8000 students. He found it often overwhelming and disorienting BUT HE STUCK IT OUT for a couple of hours. It also highlighted the things he needs to work on before he walks through the college doors for real.

He understands what college will feel like. Just how busy it will be. Busy and he won’t know any of the 8000 other students . His friends are all going to his former school’s sixth form, in a different town, 30 miles away. A sixth form that is not an option for Hawklad.

Hawklad also understands that the new college has strict exam entrant regulations for the courses he wants to do. He won’t find out how his exams went until the back end of August

He has to wait on exams and has just under 3 months to push on some things. But whatever happens this visit is another step forward.

  3. Doors will open, some will then close. Hope will come, sometimes it will also disappear. But both of you, with careful reading of the signs sent to you, will continue to move ahead. I’m sure of that.

    Whenever doubt and fear cloud your vision, just look back on the many impossible roads of years past which you’ve both navigated and come through and you will find the strength and endurance to take another step forwards.

  4. My wish of good fortune for Hawklad and you is worthless, as useless as thoughts and prayers. But I offer it anyways in a sense of community. We sll want to see Hawklad succeed, and you get a great reward for all your hatd work as a father and single parent. Be well, both of you!

  10. That is some serious distraction, for you to not post a Swiss Sunday. You’re fine though, you’ve had an adventure and there will be more adventures too. As the future rolls in, the beach gets washed and has new things appearing on the sand.

  18. College is difficult for anyone but he can do this. And the good thing about college is that students can limit their hours. Hopefully he is able to go at a pace that suits him. You two are a fantastic team and can do this.
