Moody Yorkshire….

Feels like a landscape from say Wuthering Heights, or Jane Eyre, or Nicholas Nickleby, or the Secret Garden. All novels set in Yorkshire. Move 40 miles and it could be the opening to Bram Stokers Dracula.

Yes Yorkshire clearly can do Moody and Menacing. Maybe that’s why they filmed Garfield 2 just a few miles from here. 😂😂😂😂

For over a year our world constricted. It was a small bungalow, a garden, and a big sky. Very hemmed in. But now Hawklad is trying to take his first steps back into the wider world again. This means a few walks around the village and along the country lanes. Just a few steps and the views change. That makes such a difference. The world just feels like it’s got a whole lot bigger.

  7. That’s beautiful- I miss neighborhood hellos and friends… I think a lot of people got used to staying home – its shelter but with the “In place” underscored, bold and italicized. As my next trick trying desperately to get my introverted yet usually adventurous beloved to even go two hours by car from our house to Napa where there’s a lovely 1950s hot mineral springs fed spa was canceled by a trumped up set of arguments beginning yesterday and he actually passed out for a nap after I called embarrassing myself by using my cancer card and travel insurance to not get charged. Oh well. A hike alone tomorrow isn’t my favorite thing to do because of my bad legs but maybe just
    tiny steps and go visit with my favorite donkeys around the corner. It’s certainly not a getaway to bring us closer together but one foot on the ground at a time.

  16. It is amazing how little is necessary to feel so much more freedom after the past year. I am happy that Hawklad has decided to extend his radius, which gives you more room for breathing.
