Has it really been SEVEN years.
It’s exactly 7 years since we welcomed this little hooligan into our world.

For 2 months I hadn’t been functioning, I was a mess and seemingly unable to take control. It had just been over 2 months since we had buried Hawklad’s Mum.
But then in November I realised that the house needed more LIFE, more noise, rekindled fun. A mad puppy was the answer. And do you know what, it still is the single best parenting decision I have made.

Lovely post Gary. Maya will be 2 on the 24th and was 13 weeks old when we got her. I cannot remember her being ‘small’ but the photos I took in those early days and months are proof she was once smaller than she is now! Capt Chaos is beautiful.

Maya was 13 weeks old when we got her, so we missed the tiny puppy stage. I can’t remember her actually being ‘small’ though I have photos to prove she was smaller!! Dogs are such good company though and we wouldn’t be without her.

I kind of know what you mean. I didn’t want a dog but ‘we’ got one anyway, six years ago. He has improve all of our lives, and he and I are inseperable.

It seemed a risk but something needed to change and a dog was always going to change things

Animals really do help us through bad times. What a cute puppy he was and now he’s a handsome lad.

Oh why, oh why do I always think of that line on Gimme, Gimme, Gimme when someone shares about how they feel about their dog:
“Tom, I ain’t a pussy-person. When people look at me, they don’t think ‘cat, they think ‘dog’.” LOL

Doggy! Its not the same thing as losing a parent, but when my parents split, my mum got a dog/puppy. Such a fantastic motivator!

With us, it felt like life had stopped but thankfully no one told that to the new pup.

I think that’s one of their greatest attributes. I swear there were times I only kept going, because how can you say no to those faces? lol
