Halloween update.
Just finished watching ParaNorman. My son loves the film. It makes him cry but also laugh. I think the themes of being an outcast and loss resonate with him. It does the same to me.
Mr Trumper the Party Pumpkin has lost his hat. The puppy kept wagging his tail, going crazy and knocking the pumpkins party hat off. Eventually we gave up and tried the hat on the dog. Dog is currently trotting around the house like he is the bees knees. Got to find Trumper a new hat, don’t want him losing his temper. Not on Halloween.
Well you have made your dog’s day!

He’s still wearing it. We took it off but he started whimpering so we put it back on. Mad dog.

Maybe there is a market for dog hats.

I’d buy for my kitties too!

It’s a winner. Might try out the hat tomorrow to see if the dog is still interested. Might need a new one as this has been slightly chewed.

That’s adorable and so is the cat. There’s a saying madness runs in the family lol 😂 Happy Halloween🎃

That’s probably true in our case.

That’s so funny! You would think a dog would hate wearing a hat – how cute!

Tried to take it off him but he wasn’t happy until it was put back on. It only came off him when he had a little sleep.

He is the bees knees, he totally rocks that hat! x

He’s currently madly searching the house I think he’s looking for his hat. Took it off him when he had a quick sleep. He hasn’t yet worked out that he should check the top of the pumpkin.

The hat suits him better than Mr. Trumper 😀

I’m not sure Mr Trumper agrees. Although he’s looking a bit green theses days, now he’s relegated to the garden.

Ha! That’s right, your cat just follows the pumpkin around. How curious creatures can be!
And I love that studio–Laikos, is it? They did a beautiful adaptation of Coraline, and I LOVED Kubo. That’s a gorgeous adventure story, and also deals with family, and how death never truly separates us. You might want to screen it before showing him–it’s a bit scarier than Paranorman at times, but the message is beautiful. I cried.

Thanks for the tip. I’ve got them cheap from Amazon so will vet them first. I remember that when he was 7 he told the teacher that I let him watch Dracula, Frankenstein and Zombie movies. He forgot to tell the concerned teacher that they were Scooby Doo films.

Hee hee! The kids love Scooby Doo. I’ve been showing them The Real Ghostbusters cartoon, too. That’s just scary enough to spook them but not enough to give them nightmares. 🙂

We watched that, it spooked me.

Oh those are fun, especially with Slimer! 🙂 I wanted a proton pack so bad when I was a kid…

What’s nice is my son has asked for a proton pack for Christmas. I told him to join the queue as I’m first in line.

Hee hee! I thought I had found them cheap online, but nope–just blow-up balloons you can wear. Proper proton packs are, like, 70 bucks, even from the recent remake. Dangit!

£67 quid here. Or you can get an inflatable one with the full ghostbusters costume for the same price(looks awful). Went on eBay found a limited edition one for £150 – would want a real proton pack for that price with a couple of free ghosts.

No kidding! And it sucks because when I was a kid we could never afford the toys when they were “cheap,” with the cool traps and K-2 Meter and oooooooh those were all so COOL!

We only had one toy shop we could get to. They stocked toy cars, footballs, airfix models, scalextric and top trumps. That was it really. So absolutely no chance of anything like a proton pack.

we would sometimes go to the “big city” = Milwaukee, and on the rarest of occasions go to Toys ‘R’ Us. One more piece of magic from childhood, gone now.

Our son loved the Toys r Us in our city, sadly gone. I was went to Newcastle when I was a kid. The toy shops were like a wonderland.
